Road trip! I was completely worried that it would be a disaster since the kids have never driven further than 2 hours at a time. I was pleasantly surprised with how well everyone did, including Lux, Harvey and Ritchie. I caught a funny face on Hayden, but that face only happened a few times on the drive over.
I finally asked if Hayden wanted to use the Ipad a few hours into the trip. We don't use screens in the car, she had no idea that was even an option, oops!
We were trying really hard to get to St. George our first night. It was pushing 10:00pm and we just needed to take a break. Soooo, we ended up in Mesquite, NV. We had to find a pet friendly hotel and this was our option:(at $32.00/night we were petrified! but it actually wasn't that bad after all....it had a Starbucks in the casino!).
We headed out Tuesday morning with a few miles left to drive in Nevada. A quick 20 miles or so in Arizona and then we hit Utah. MAN - my pics do not give this drive justice. It was just incredible! Absolutely gorgeous! It's probably what made the drive seem quick ~ the scenery of these amazing red rock mountains were just stunning.
